Angie Thirkell
Angie Thirkell was born and raised in Zimbabwe.
She graduated with a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town, then spent the next 20 years working in IT in Cape Town, London & Philadelphia. Her travels also included working and living in France.
Once her children were older she decided to retrain in Ceramics, graduating with a BA (Hons) from Bucks New University.
After a number of years making and teaching ceramics she was accepted at Central Saint Martins in London to do a Masters in Ceramic Design.
Whilst studying there she was nominated for the prestigious Nova Award.
